Tribal leaders from central Syria extend congratulations to the SDC’s Co-chairs on Eid al-Fitr

Layla Qaraman, Co-chairwoman of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), received a delegation of tribal leaders and dignitaries from regions in central Syria. They extended congratulations to the SDC and its Co-chairs on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

The visiting delegation included the following prominent figures:
Sheikh Basha al-Basha, leader of al-Mawali tribe.
Sheikh Zayed Abu al-Tous, leader of al-Turki tribe.
Sheikh Ridwan al-Shibli, leader of al-Kharashin tribe.
Sheikh Muhanna al-Jadaan, leader of al-Amour tribe.
Mut’ab al-Hamad and Muhammad al-Mustafa, members of al-Jamlan tribe.

Alongside Qaraman, Jehan Khedro, Head of the SDC’s Women’s Office, Berivan Hassan, a member of the SDC’s General Council, Thubiya al-Nasser, a member of the SDC’s Advisory Office, and Mustafa Othman, a member of the SDC’s Public Relations Office, welcomed the delegation at the SDC’s headquarters in Raqqa.

The delegation discussed the ongoing hardships faced by the Syrian people, as well as the lack of long-term solutions after years of the Syrian crisis. They also highlighted the specific challenges faced by the people who live in central Syria, which includes the cities of Homs, Hama, and their surrounding areas. These regions have witnessed significant events since the Syrian Revolution.

Qaraman highlighted the importance of unifying the Syrians’ efforts and the collaboration of various powers, including women, youth, and social and cultural elite groups in central Syria. She also emphasized the need to proceed along the path of the Syrian democratic transition.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on issues related to refugees and the unity of the Syrian front. The aim was to establish an organizational basis that enables the people of these regions to actively participate in political and institutional activities within their regions.

As the visit concluded, both sides exchanged congratulations and well-wishes on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. They reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing visits and expressed solidarity with the relentless efforts made by the SDC to achieve a political solution to the Syrian crisis and address the challenges and crises affecting the region.
