SDC meets with political parties to strengthen joint efforts for a political solution

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) convened with political parties, Syrian powers, and national figures at its office in Aleppo. The aim was to discuss the latest political developments on the Syrian scene and the necessity of joint work to reach common visions and goals.

Ali Rahman, Deputy Co-chairman of the SDC, Hassan Muhammad Ali, Co-chairman of the SDC’s Relations Office, and members of the Relations Office in Aleppo welcomed Mustafa Qala’ji, Secretary-General of the Syrian Change and Renaissance Party, and Ziyad Watfa, a member of the National Coordination Body – Democratic Change Movement.

The meeting addressed a range of issues related to the Syrian situation and ways to reach sustainable political solutions in light of regional and international challenges.

On the other hand, the meeting discussed the importance of united work across the entire Syrian territories. The aim was to reach common agreements in visions and goals that lead to uniting the efforts of political powers and the achievement of the desired political solution.

On the other hand, the SDC delegation welcomed all Syrian initiatives aimed at uniting Syrian efforts. It noted the importance of the Aleppo National Meeting which resulted in the formation of preparatory committees to complete the path of national work. The announcement of the Three-Region Document was followed by Decision No. 786 regarding the launch of a broad national dialogue at all official and popular levels by the authority in Damascus.

The success of the Aleppo National Meeting was considered a key achievement by the SDC. That was attributed to the SDC’s national outreach efforts which aimed to bring viewpoints closer together and reach common national visions with various Syrian national democratic powers.

Discussions also focused on the need for coordination to foster trust among political powers. Also, the participants in the meeting emphasized the need to confront the dangers of occupation and terrorism that threaten Syrian territories by identifying shared principles for working together.

The meeting underscored the critical importance of a Syrian-led political solution that should maintain the integrity of the Syrian social fabric. Also, it stressed the importance of involving all significant Syrian national powers in the political process to establish a framework for a Syrian national dialogue.
