SDC’s Co-chairman meets with dignitaries of al-Auqaidat tribe abroad

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen national unity and constructive dialogue, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) held an important meeting with tribal leaders and notables of al-Auqaidat tribe residing abroad. Prominent figures, including Sheikh Abdulhakim al-Hazzah and Sheikh Ayoub al-Nigris, as well as a group of young people, political activists, and media activists participated in the meeting.

The participants in the meeting, including Sheikh Abdulhakim al-Hazzah, observed a minute of silence to remember the martyrs of freedom in Syria. Al-Hazzah welcomed the attendees, headed by Mahmoud al-Mislat, Co-chairman of the SDC.

Al-Mislat addressed the current situation in the region, highlighting the importance of holding the Tribes and Clans Conference held under the auspices of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), the SDC, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). He stated the proceedings of the Conference, noting its important role in promoting agreements and national unity among the various tribes and clans of Syrian society in the northeast of Syria.

Al-Mislat stressed the need to strengthen national cohesion among the Syrian people in light of the current circumstances. He emphasized that the challenges facing the Syrian people require flexibility and wisdom by all involved parties.

Regarding the context of supporting joint national action, al-Mislat praised the efforts made by the SDC and the AANES in promoting the national dialogue and agreements among the various components of the Syrian people. He stressed that these steps reflect a real commitment to building a cohesive and united society that strives to achieve development and democracy in Syria.

In conclusion, al-Mislat called on all Syrian parties to strengthen solidarity and cooperation to build a better future for Syria. Also, he expressed his confidence in the ability of the Syrian people to overcome challenges through a national and constructive dialogue.

Rezgar Qasim, Representative of the SDC in Germany, stated the challenges facing the Region of North and East Syria. He emphasized that these challenges target the comprehensive national project in the region. Therefore, he called for unifying efforts to face these challenges and achieve stability in the region. Also, he underscored the importance of Syrian people’s unity in the face of obstacles that hinder the path towards freedom and democracy.

Majid Karro, Representative of the SDC in the Netherlands, focused on the vital role of tribes in strengthening stability in the society. He stressed the need for cooperation among dignitaries and notables of al-Auqaidat tribe to participate effectively in political and social matters at this critical stage.

During the meeting, the participants emphasized the importance of strengthening the domestic and external popular front to face future challenges. Additionally, they stressed facing regional and international interventions that hinder the process of democracy and peace in Syria.

The meeting concluded with a question-and-answer session. The attendees in the meeting presented their inquiries and opinions, which enriched discussions and strengthened the engaging in dialogues among all participating parties.
