MSDFormer U.S. President and Republican candidate for the 2024 U.S. presidential election, Donald Trump, was subjected to an assassination attempt. It was on Saturday during an election rally, resulting in injuries to him and several attendees.
We, as members at the Media Office of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), condemn this assassination attempt. We also affirm that such actions are in direct contradiction to humanitarian and ethical principles.
As we express our rejection of all forms of violence, and emphasize that it is unacceptable in any community. It is imperative to oppose it through concerted efforts and to avoid rhetoric that incites provocation and political polarization.
Additionally, we express our solidarity with the United States, and extend our condolences to the families of the victims and the American people. We wish a speedy recovery to the injured, including former President Donald Trump.
