The city of Tabqa, Syria, witnessed on Monday a tribal reconciliation between al-Nasser and al-Maghlatan tribes. Hassan Muhammad Ali, Co-chairman of the Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) and a member of the SDC’s Presidential Body, attended that reconciliation.
Also, a large number of prominent figures, including tribal leaders and dignitaries from the Syrian tribes in Tabqa and Raqqa attended the reconciliation. Additionally, representatives from the civil administration, the legislative council, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in addition to delegates from the disputing parties participated in the reconciliation.
Muhammad Ali, during his speech, praised the efforts made by charitable initiative leaders and the Syrian tribesmen. He highlighted the value of traditions and customs that do not promote discord and chaos. He also considered this tolerance and agreement as a positive message about the democratic model in the region. Additionally, he underscored the need to resolve disputes peacefully under the current circumstances.
The reconciliation included several speeches that emphasized the importance of rejecting conflicts and promoting coexistence among the various components of the Syrian community. The ceremony concluded with the reviewing of the terms of the tribal reconciliation document, which had been agreed upon in previous meetings. The two sides exchanged the blood money payments according to the established agreement, thus announcing the end of the months-long dispute.
It is worth noting that this reconciliation comes as part of efforts to enhance stability and civil peace in the region. It reaffirmed the role played by tribes in resolving conflicts and strengthening social bonds.
