Towns and villages of Deir ez-Zor in east of Euphrates River were subjected on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, to a treacherous attack by the forces of the authorities in Damascus, their affiliated factions and external entities. They killed many innocent civilians and severely injured others.
The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) strongly condemns and denounces these criminal and brutal attacks, holding these authorities a full responsibility for these actions, warning them of the deteriorating security situation.
The SDC commends the crucial role of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), who repelled these barbaric attacks and maintained the security and stability of the region.
The SDC extends its deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs who sacrificed themselves and wishes a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured.
The SDC calls on all political and national powers to condemn the criminal actions of the authorities in Damascus and its apparatuses, which contribute to strengthen the capabilities of the terrorist group “ISIS”, intensify its activities, and undermine efforts to combat terrorism.
One day, responsible parties will be held accountable for the criminal and terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of innocent Syrians. Also, they will be held accountable for their heinous and brutal actions against the peaceful people of their country.
