SDC and Green Idlib Council commemorate the 13th anniversary of the Syrian Revolution

The Green Idlib Council commemorated on Friday the thirteenth anniversary of the break out of the Syrian Revolution at its headquarters in the city of Raqqa. The event took place under the slogan “We Commemorate the 13th Anniversary of the Syrian Revolution Through Brotherhood and Democracy”.

The event was attended by Hassan Muhammad Ali, Co-chairman of the Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), along with numerous tribal leaders, representatives of political parties, civil institutions, military figures, women’s activists, and families of martyrs. Also, fighters of the Northern Democratic Brigade and residents of Idlib currently residing in Raqqa attended the event.

The event commenced with revolutionary songs and chants. The participants in the event observed a minute of silence to remember the martyrs of freedom. Some participants delivered speeches about the Syrian Revolution which has broken out as a call for freedom and political reform.

Turki Da’doua, Co-chairman of the Green Idlib Council, emphasized the significance of the Revolution. He highlighted both the international silence and the absence of the Syrian people from conferences. Da’doua expressed support for the ongoing protests in Idlib and Suwayda, and underscored the importance of a political solution in accordance with UN Resolution 2254.

During the event, Muhammad Ali delivered a speech commemorating the 13th anniversary of the Syrian Revolution. He emphasized that the March 12 Uprising served as the cornerstone of the Revolution.

Muhammad Ali reaffirmed that the Syrian Revolution will continue, be guided by the principles of freedom and dignity, and remain committed to achieving democratic transition.

He underscored the importance of the national strategy adopted by the SDC during its Fourth Conference, emphasizing the unity among Syrians to achieve a revolutionary and democratic transition in Syria.

The event included several speeches that highlighted the significance of Syrians’ unity, and stressed that political solution, requiring further efforts to achieve consensus on an inclusive political solution.

The event was concluded with a theatrical performance and a speech delivered by children from Idlib, chanting revolutionary slogans and calling on the global community to end suffering and overcome fear and terrorism.
