SDC’s Co-chairman participates in a dialogue seminar in Germany

The representatives of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) in Germany held a dialogue seminar at its headquarters in Dortmund. Mahmoud al-Mislat, Co-chairman of the SDC, attended the seminar alongside an elite group of Syrian politicians, activists, and members of the Syrian community. The purpose of the seminar was to discuss political developments in Syria.

The seminar commenced with a speech by al-Mislat who addressed the political developments and the Syrian situation, highlighting the challenges faced by the Syrian issue across various dimensions and levels.

He emphasized the danger posed by the continued Turkish occupation and Iranian presence in Syria, which impact Syria’s identity and fabric. The SDC, through its national path, strives to affirm the inclusive identity that unites all other identities within Syria.

Regarding the path of the political solution, al-Mislat pointed out that the Damascus authorities’ continued intransigence represents one of the main reasons for the political deadlock on the Syrian issue. Their policy of evading the implementation of international resolutions, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2254, exacerbates the situation.

During the seminar, al-Mislat emphasized the SDC’s vision for a solution in Syria. He underscored that the SDC is ready to engage in dialogue with all Syrian national powers to end the crisis and build a brighter future for the Syrian people.

Furthermore, Rezgar Qasim, Representative of the SDC in Germany, highlighted the SDC’s diligent efforts to reach national agreements that strengthen the unity of the Syrian people committed to the democratic national project. He also discussed the Fourth Conference held in December 2023.

The seminar focused on the SDC’s efforts made in developing the paths of Syrian national dialogue and in continuing the intra-Kurdish dialogue. Additionally, it highlighted the SDC’s diplomatic endeavors to strengthen relations with Western countries and partners in the Global Coalition, all aimed at achieving political stability in Syria.

Several debates, participations and questions were raised around critical issues and political developments in the Syrian arena. There were inquiries related to various matters and the developmental and economic projects of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES). During the seminar, al-Mislat provided answers and outlined the efforts of the democratic AANES in these domains.
