The Organization Office of the Syrian Democratic Council held its periodic meeting in Qamishlo in the presence of branches and committees of the office in north- east Syria, to discuss political developments, plans and programs of the office during the coming period.
In the presence of the co-chair of the Organization’s Office, Hikmat Habib, the meeting discussed rapid developments taking place in the region and their impact on the Syrian reality, to find a way out for a political settlement to the crisis that entered its tenth year.
The meeting also discussed the economic situation and devaluation of the national currency in light of application of Caesar’s law related to US sanctions on the Syrian government. The meeting valued the efforts of Self-Administration for North and East Syria in alleviating the impact of sharp devaluation of Syrian currency.
On the other hand, the co-chair of the Organization Office, Hikmat Habib, said that the Turkish attacks and its military incursion into several countries of the region portend the danger of expansionist and aggressive mentality of the Turkish president and his government, adding that the current Turkish approach threatens peace and security in the entire Middle East region and the world, so concerned international institutions must deal with that in accordance with international laws.
The meeting blessed the understanding paper reached by the two Kurdish parties in response to the initiative of the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces. Habib described this understanding as the right step that paves the way to agreement of all Syrian parties for achievement of the desired political solution that the Syrians would expect.
On organizational side, the meeting evaluated the plans of the office during last stage and going towards resuming public meetings and meeting with societal figures, especially in light of spreading false news that try to undermine the state of stability and safety that are common in areas of Self-Administration .
It was also decided in the regular meeting of the Organization Office to hold workshops about international decisions on Syrian affairs, on top of which is UN Resolution 2254, which is hitherto considered the reference for any political solution or settlement in the country.
