Syrian tribes and clans from the central region (in the middle of Syria) expressed its support for the national project led by the Syrian Democratic Council to resolve the Syrian crisis and generalize the Autonomous Administration model as a real way out of the difficult Syrian situation.
The members of the Public Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council held a dialogue session with a delegation of the sheikhs and dignitaries of the clans of the central region to discuss the role of clans and societal components in resolving the Syrian crisis.
The delegation included Prince Basha Al-Basha, the prince of Al-Muwali tribe, Sheikh Hussein Al-Najeeb, the sheikh of Bani Khalid clan, and Sheikh Zayed Abu Al-Tous, the Sheikh of Al-Turki clan. These clans live in the central regions of Homs, Hama and Palmyra, in addition to the Syrian Badia, and they have extensions throughout Syria and neighboring countries, some of which reach the Arabian Gulf.
Prince Basha Al-Basha, the prince of Al-Muwali tribe, stressed that the current situation requires a double effort on the part of everyone. “We are as Al-Muwali clan support the efforts made by SDC and also the dialogue path which is sponsored internally and externally, so we come here to improve relations and make capabilities and efforts for support the solution methods and reach to new democratic Syria that fulfills the aspirations of the Syrian people.” The prince said.
Prince Al-Basha clarified that the authority in Damascus over the past decades marginalized the clans and made them absent from the public scene. “The Autonomous Administration made the clans, their sheikhs, and their notables as active actors to play their role in maintaining security, civil peace and coexistence.” Al-Basha added.
In turn, the two sheikhs, Sheikh Hussein Al-Najeeb and Sheikh Zayed Abu Al-Tous called to generalize the experience of the Autonomous Administration over the entire Syria and give freedoms and rights and achieve societal justice, which will return thousands of displaced persons to their villages and homes and achieve stability.
The clans of the central region had organized a clan forum in the countryside of Raqqa, in the beginning of this month, and they unanimously agreed on “national basics” that included:
– The unity of Syria’s land and people.
– Supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces for stability and consolidation of security, and to be an essential part of the aspired Syrian army to liberate the occupied Syrian lands.
– Preserving coexistence among the components of the Syrian people through the Syrian-Syrian dialogue.
– The Syrian Democratic Council represents us in all forums.
During their meeting with the Public Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council, the delegation of sheikhs presented opinions and proposals to resolve the Syrian crisis and achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people.
