Ilham Ahmed, the Chairwoman of the Executive Body of the Syrian Democratic Council, said that “The establishment of the Future Syria Party was based on political, cultural and social necessities to improve the political situation in the country and to find advanced policies in all societal, cultural and gender fields” and others, because of the ruling Baath Party that has ruled Syria for years in which it has not brought a good state to society and it was responsible for tragedies and the crisis of the Syrian people.
Despite the short time of the establishment of Future Syria party, it has managed to rise to important levels in the north and east of Syria, and it could to build the process of change and eliminate problems, considering that it is not a party that depended on males and the participation of women in such quantity was a proof that it followed the right path,” Ahmed continued.
These declarations came during a speech delivered by Ilham Ahmed during the work of the second conference of the General Women’s Council of the Future Syria Party, which was under the slogan “By the will of free organized women, we build the future Syria” in the presence of hundreds of female party members, female guests, female representatives of political parties, Autonomous Administration and local civil and military institutions on Sunday in one of the halls of Raqqa city.
The Chairwoman of the Executive Body of the SDC stressed the need for women to participate in the political arena equally with men in all decision-making centers because the laws and guarantees exist, and women should show the desire and conviction to participate because the participatory life means changing life with its diversity of legal, living and community fields.
At the international level, Ahmed pointed out events that started from the activities of women such as the martyr “Jina”, who became a victim of the policies of the ruling regime in Iran, and it began the uprising of women so the slogan that means “Woman, Life and Freedom”, showed that it is a slogan with a long history of struggle started by Kurdish women, but today hundreds of thousands of women believe in and it has become a leading slogan to achieve their demands for justice and freedom.
At the end of her speech, Ilham Ahmed recalled the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of women’s participation in the political arena, such as Saada and Hind, headed by havrin Khalaf, the Secretary General of the Future Syria Party, and finally she thanked the activity of the General Women’s Council of the party and wished them success.
The Future Syria Party was founded in March, 2018 in the city of Raqqa in northeastern Syria, and it is one of the political components of the Syrian Democratic Council.
