Delegation of the SDC meet Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Sulaiymaniya

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan met the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) delegation in Sulaiymaniya to discuss the current developments in Syria and the region.

The SDC delegation included Ali Rahmun, Deputy Head of the Executive Body of the SDC, and Hoshang Darwish, a member of the Relations Bureau and representative of the Council in the region. They were received by Salar Khalifa, a leader in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and Fehmi Sulivani, a member of the party’s Relations Bureau.

The SDC delegation extended congratulations to the Patriotic Union on the occasion of holding its general conference and the election of Pavel Talabani as the party’s president. During the meeting, the SDC delegation addressed the recent Turkish attacks on northeastern Syria, targeting infrastructure, energy sources, electricity, water, service centers, and hospitals in areas such as Kobani, Derik, Qamishli, and others. The delegation also highlighted the targeting of the Anti-Drug Academy within the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and the martyrdom of 29 fighters.

Salar Khalifa expressed the deep sorrow and concern about the developments in northeastern Syria, emphasizing the importance of a political resolution to resolve all problems and disputes. He affirmed that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will continue to support any national democratic project.
