SDC’s Co-chairman participates in a dialogue seminar in the Netherlands

Mahmoud al-Mislat, Co-chairman of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), emphasized the importance of the Syrian national dialogue as a consensual approach and a necessary need for resolving the issue of the Syrian people.

That came during a dialogue seminar held by the representatives of the SDC in the Netherlands on March 17, in collaboration with the Syriac Union Party and the Fares al-Khoury Association. The seminar aimed to discuss current challenges and prospects for a political solution, with the participation of members of the Syrian community and political activists.

Al-Mislat further discussed the Syrian political situation and current challenges by highlighting the need to continue the intra-Kurdish dialogue which has yielded positive results for the broader Syrian dialogue and meeting the aspirations of all Syrian people.

As al-Mislat talked about the paths of joint national work, emphasizing the crucial role of the SDC in these dialogues. The SDC aims to reunite Syrians including all national opposition powers by the vital role of powers in the northeastern regions of Syria.

Also, al-Mislat focused on the importance of the role played by political forces and civil organizations in enhancing democracy and human rights in Syria.

In turn, Rezgar Qasim, Representative of the SDC in Germany and the Netherlands, discussed the beginnings of the Syrian Revolution and how its path was changed. He also addressed the negative role of political Islam groups, especially the Muslim Brotherhood, and their coordination with Turkey which turned them into tools used against the Syrian people and their Revolution.

Qasim noted that the Astana agreement focused on hostility to the project of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), despite there were contradictions among parties, particularly involving Turkish and Iranian actors.

The seminar witnessed political dialogues and discussions. “We commemorate the thirteenth anniversary of the Syrian Revolution, and it is essential to correct its path,” Majid Ya’qub, Representative of the Fares al-Khoury Association, stated.

Yussef Boyuk Qahraman, Representative the Syriac community, expressed support for the SDC’s project. He emphasized that the Syriac Union forms an integral part of that Syrian initiative. “This project serves the aspirations of all Syrian components and supports them across various domains,” Qahraman stated.

It is worth noting that this seminar is the second one within a week. Previously, the representatives of the SDC in Germany held a similar seminar as part of efforts to enhance communication and national dialogue with various political parties abroad.
