The Syrian Democratic Council

Statement to the Public

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) strongly condemns the terrorist attack that targeted U.S. forces in the Syrian city of Palmyra. It considers this attack a criminal act that threatens the security and stability of Syria and the wider region, and serves the interests of extremism and chaos.

The SDC expresses its deep regret over the injury of members of Syrian security forces and U.S. soldiers as a result of gunfire in the Syrian Desert while they were carrying out their duties. It emphasizes that the escalation of such attacks underscores the urgent need for coordinated national efforts and a strengthened collective will to pursue terrorist groups and their sleeper cells. The SDC also wishes a speedy recovery to all those wounded.

In this context, the SDC extends its sincere condolences to the United States of America (USA), its leadership and people. It affirms its full solidarity with the families of the victims and with all partners engaged in the fight against terrorism and in efforts to reinforce security and stability.

Furthermore, the SDC reaffirms its firm commitment to maintaining alliance and partnership with the USA and the forces of the Global Coalition in the fight against terrorism. It also highlights the importance of working to implement the March 10 Agreement between the transitional government in Damascus and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as a key step toward strengthening security and stability across Syria.

The SDC further stresses the necessity of continued joint action to eradicate terrorism and prevent the re-emergence of extremist groups, which pose a serious threat to the future of Syrians and to the security of the region as a whole.
