Afrin Children Embody the Reality of Their Occupied Region by Their Fingers

Romaf agency , in cooperation with Afrin intellectuals, organized the largest painting project in Barkhadan camp/al-Shahba district on Monday, September 2, entitled “Fingerprints of Pain”, which was painted by fingers of more than 2,000 children from Afrin and al-Shahba.The project was an idea of both painters, Hanif Hammou and Ardalan Ibrahim. Afterwards, a documentary film was made to monitor events of Afrin, before, during and after the war.
The film showd the period of displacement through live scenes drawn in the memory of the children as they emptied them on the painting, where the painting is the general drama line of the documentary film which is also called “Fingerprints of Pain.” More than 2,000 children aged between 6 and 13 participated in this activity.They depicted on this painting, the beautiful nature of Afrin, their memories there, what they lived during the war in Afrin and what they suffer from displacement and migration.It is worth mentioning, that this activity was chosen because the coming of the anniversary of the drowned child, Alan al-Kurdi, from Kobani, who was found on shores of Greece in 2015, while trying to escape from Syrian war with his family to Europe.
