bhzad janOn September 5, and in order to overcome the culture of prevailed stereotyped roles in society, the Women Office of the Syrian Democratic Council organized a lecture in the city of Tabqqa about women’s development and their empowerment politically and socially, with presence of dozens of members from women institutions in the the city.
The Syrian Women Council and all women’s activities in the city also attended the lecture.
The lecture was given by the administrator in the Women Office, Ilham Omar, with participation of the two members of the Women Office, Amina Saleh and Newroz Ahmed.
The lecture included the importance of women’s awareness of their identity and the necessity of their involvement in civil, social and political work.
The lecture also touched on the need for women to care about public affairs as much as they deal with women’s issues.They should not limit themselves caring about their own issues. At the same time, women must not deny such issues. In the end, they are a part of society and should make a qualitative accumulation in their diverse performance.
In this issue , Amina Saleh talked about the concept of empowerment and the importance of empowering women in society in light of great challenges they face. They should support their practical abilities, sharing them in the process of policy-determination, decision-making and all aspects of life.
During the lecture, Amina Saleh discussed the role of the Women Office in supporting and assisting women in obtaining their rights, and their equitable representation at all practical and political levels to develop their skills.
For her part, Elham Omar talked about the main challenges facing women, how to achieve equality between men and women, how to eliminate exclusionary policies and discrimination, making change in the traditional stereotype of women and activating the role of women in society and the family.
For their part, the participants expressed their views about various aspects of the lecture, They stressed on the pivotal role of women in current stage and the need for continuation of the Women’s Office and all private activities related to women to do the developmental role to raise the level of women.
