Presidential Council : We Have Begun a Stage Titled: Building a National Accord and preparing a Democratic Climate in Northern and Eastern Syria

On Saturday, the regular meeting of the Presidential Council of the Syrian Democratic Council was held in Ein Issa to discuss current issues and challenges, and ways to build national consensus in order to resolve the Syrian crisis.
The meeting was attended by the majority of members of the Presidential Council from various regions, in addition to presence of Co-Chair of the Council, Amina Omar, and the President of the Executive Committee , Ilham Ahmed.
The meeting initially discussed the political report read by the Co-Chair and included political developments, challenges and developments in Northern and Eastern Syria.
The attendees talked plentily about Turkish threats and last understandings about the execution of terms of ( security mechanism ).The members of the Presidential Council considered the understanding that took place between the United States and Turkey in coordination with SDF, avoided the areas of Self-Administration scourge of wars and battles that would be catastrophic for everyone .
The members of the Presidential Council pointed out that SDF has shown flexibility and provided an opportunity for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the crisis in North and East of Syria.The Syrian Democratic Council considered the dialogue as a strategic choice to end the Syrian crisis and achieve decentralized democratic Syria.
In the same context, the president of the Executive Committee, Ilham Ahmad, added:
“We do not want war or conflict with the Turkish state. On the contrary, we want a sustainable peace process that avoids catastrophic consequences for everyone if such war happened “.
Regarding the initiatives of the Syrian Democratic Council and calling upon the authority in Damascus to negotiate and serious dialogue, the participants described that the initiative was not the result of the current situation, but it was the result of the belief of the Syrian Democratic Council that the solution should be Syrian away from foreign dictates and interferences.
The meeting also dealt with the Turkish violations in Afrin by releasing hands of its mercenaries to commit the most horrible crimes against its indigenous inhabitants. About this issue, the members of the Presidential Council pointed out that the issue of Afrin and ending Turkish occupation to it are part of their negitiations with different interested countries in the Syrian crisis. They added: there is no solution for the Syrian crisis if Afrin does not return to its status before Turkish occupation.
 Members of the Presidential Council stressed on the importance of continuing to hold dialogues and constructive meetings in order to build national consensus and bring views closer to a national framework, where SDC works to hold general national conference for powers of democratic opposition that leads to resolve the Syrian crisis.
About the organizational side, the meeting discussed a number of resolutions that contribute to push the Council to increase its effectiveness and representation of democratic powers, and making the areas of Northeastern Syria a key pillar to build a democratic Syria.
