bhzad janOn Thursday (September 12th), the Women Office of the Syria Democratic Council organized an awareness lecture on reality of women in society and how to develop them in field of work and administration in al- Karama area, east of Raqqa city.
Dozens of women from al-Karama, Women House and many women from al-Hamrat and al- Samra attended the lecture,where the administrator from Women Office, Ilham Omar and the member of Women Office , Amina Saleh, gave a lecture .
Elham Omar started the lecture by talking about the most problems and difficulties facing women in society and practical life, how to improve their status, raise the level of their administrative empowerment, support them to participate in making and taking appropriate decisions.
On her part, Amina Saleh, introduced the concept of empowerment, the dimensions of women’s empowerment, its obstacles, its importance in practical life of women, the most obstacles that stand in way of achieving empowerment, the challenges that women must overcome in order to get their freedom and achieve the development of society.
Omar stressed on the need to empower women in economical, social and cultural fields, to recognize their important role in life industry through increasing their representation in decision-making positions, raising their membership in parties and civil society organizations and their representation in various institutions.
The women who attended the lecture showed their happiness, wishing
continuation of such lectures, and working on development of women in order to be able to play their leading role in achieving a modern society on principles of freedom and democracy.
