bhzad janIn an interview with German magazine” Der Spiegel”, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Riad Darar, said that the deployment of German troops on the Syrian-Turkish border would be positive to prevent the Turkish state from carrying out its threat, which it has long intended to do a large-scale operation in Self -Administration areas of northern and eastern Syria.
Der Spiegel reports that the most important Syrian opposition official, referring to the joint president of SDC, said that they would welcome with the presence of German forces that would enhance security and stability, especially near the border between Self-Administration regions of Northern and Eastern Syria and the Turkish state.
The Turkish army, which supports extremist groups, seeks to invade neighboring areas (north and east of Syria) and to change administrative and executive structures there.
The joint president of SDC assures that the Turkish threats, if they happen, would be catastrophic and would certainly renew the hopes of the terrorist organization ISIS which will become stronger than ever. So, the international community should work to stabilize northeastern areas of Syria and stop Turkey from destabilization of these regions.
The magazine reminds its readers of what the Turkish army did in the Syrian region of Afrin in 2018, by occupying it and working to settle the extremist battalions and Syrians who were brought by Turkey from central Syria in reference to changing population composition of Afrin region.
The magazine concludes its dialogue with the co-president Riad Dirar about the dialogue workshop organized by the Syrian Democratic Council in German capital Berlin (September 7-8) with a group of Syrian opposition figures, pointing to the objective of SDC is building a democratic and decentralized Syria .
