Co-Chair of SDC Meets with Teaching Staff and Students of “Rojava University”

Upon the initiative of the Organization Office of the Syrian Democratic Council, the Co-Chair Amina Omar, with a delegation from SDC met with the teaching staff and students of “Rojava University” in the city of Qamishlo, to explain and discuss political developments and challenges facing the regions of N-E Syria.
In addition to the Co-chair of SDC, the delegation of the Syrian Democratic Council included the joint presidency of the organization office / Laila Qahraman and Hekmat Habib, member of the Public Relations Office, Ali Rahmoun, in addition to both / Jawaher Othman and Ammar Musa / from the Organization Office of SDC.
The Co-Chair, Amina Omar, briefed the university administration and its students on the political developments taking place in the entire region and future of Syria in light of the current facts.
And the fact that next week marks the second anniversary of the start of the Turkish aggression against Afrin region, Omar highlighted the dimensions, repercussions and results that resulted from the Turkish occupation and its threat to peace and security of the region.

Omar also presented to the attendees the career of the Syrian Democratic Council and its project to solve the Syrian crisis and the efforts made by it to build national consensus by holding a series of dialogue forums at home and workshops with the democratic opposition abroad to reach a common ground that paves the way for democratic change.
Omar emphasized the role of all societal groups in protecting the region and its sustainable development, especially students and learners.
During the meeting, the co-chair answered questions and inquiries from students that centered on the future of the region, the political process, and ways to end the Syrian crisis.
It is worth mentioning that Rojava University was established in July, 2016 to include medicine, engineering, science, arts and humanities, in addition to that, the university offers educational programs for preparatory and elementary levels.
