The Women’s Office Sets Plans and Programs for its Work During 2020

In its first meeting during the new year, the Women’s Office set the office’s work plan during the year 2020 according to phased programs and plans, and other strategic plans aimed at achieving positive results in terms of increasing women’s empowerment, in Al-Darbasiyah sub-district / north of Hasakeh.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Deputy President of Executive Committee, Nojeen Yousef, administrators, members of all branches and centers of the Women’s Office, where the meeting began by discussing recent political developments in Syria and the region generally, which affect in one way or another in the Syrian crisis file.
In this context, the Deputy President of the Executive Committee, Nojeen Yousef, spoke about the position of the Syrian Democratic Council regarding the various events taking place in the region, especially those related to the future of the country.
The office also conducted a critical review of its various activities in order to correct the course of its work during the current year and overcome obstacles in front of women and their development.
The meeting discussed the plans and programs proposed by the members of the office and selecting what is appropriate for the current phase which allows increasing women’s involvement in the development process to achieve desired results such as equality and improving the situation of women socially, politically and economically.
Because the role of women and their participation in the political process are marginal or almost absent in the tracks of the solution process, the Women’s Office decided to study the case and its reasons that made the role of women marginal, by reviewing various agreements and meetings aimed at solving the Syrian crisis and highlighting the participation and role of women.
The Women’s Office also decided to hold, organize workshops to empower women, give more importance to their role and enhance their contribution to the comprehensive development process, in addition to forming committees to follow up activities related to women and reviving special occasions for women such as the eighth of March that marks International Women’s Day.
Besides, the Women’s Office plans to hold mass meetings to expand the circle of participation in dialogues to include various groups and segments of society.
