Since its control over Afrin region in Spring of 2018, the Turkish state has sought to turkification of the region, change its identity and reformulate it in line with the interests of the Turkish state.
Recently, the Turkish occupation has drawn the flag of its country (the Turkish flag) at the foot of Gher mountain, located in the town of Bulbul in the countryside of Afrin, where Turkish media reported that the area of the flag is 600 square meters.
The head of one of the Turkish municipalities posted on his account on Twitter, that Turkish soldiers asked him to help painting the Turkish flag on a 600-square-meter scale on the foothills of the largest mountains in Afrin region.
The Turkish official expressed his hope that the Turkish flag will remain in place forever, saying that “the flag that is raised once will never fall again ” in reference to consolidation and continuation of Turkish occupation of the Syrian region of Afrin.
Day after day, the expansionist and aggressive intentions of the Turkish state are evident in northern Syria, where the Turkish oppression machine was not only bite lands, but also its hegemony extended to include textbooks, road signs and public institutions that have become teeming with the Turkish language, as well as demographic change and systematic ethnic cleansing.
