Yesterday, Sunday, the Syrian Democratic Council held its first regular meeting after the appearance of Corona pandemic, in which the members of the Presidential Council discussed a number of files and issues in the city of Hasakeh, northeast of the country.
The majority of the members of the Presidential Council participated in the meeting, in the presence of co-chair Amina Omar, who spoke about the developments taking place in the region, especially Syria, and its crisis, which entered its tenth year without any signs of a sustainable and comprehensive solution.
Then the co-chair read a report on the political situation and an assessment of the political situation and the position of Syrian Democratic Council on various issues and developments that Syria witnessed during June.
The members of the Presidential Council belonging to various parties, blocs, political and social forces, enriched the meeting with visions and constructive discussions, stressing the need to find a way out of the crisis and end the suffering of the Syrian people.
The meeting included discussing the efforts made by the Syrian Democratic Council to gather democratic opposition forces and build national consensus to work within one umbrella that represents the will of the Syrians away from the dictates, dependence of regional countries and implementation of their agendas.
The meeting held the central government in Damascus responsible for deterioration of the economic situation and devaluation of the currency due to pursuit of military option, rejection of negotiation and dialogue initiatives and thus avoid the Syrians scourge of war, poverty and siege.
The meeting praised the measures and efforts made by the Self-Administration for North and East Syria to face devaluation of Syrian currency through a basket of measures to alleviate the economic deterioration witnessed by the country.
The meeting called on the international community and the main countries operating in the Syrian file to put pressure on Turkish state and deter it from the practices it is taking towards northern and eastern regions of Syria such as cutting off water and threatening the lives of millions of Syrians, as well as its expansionist and criminal policies.
The meeting appreciated the signing of the Kurdish parties on
an understanding paper among them, stressing the necessity of continuing efforts to reach an agreement among all parties to reach a comprehensive dialogue among various Syrian components to enhance the state of social harmony and reject discrimination.
The meeting concluded with an affirmation of the necessity to support the efforts and path represented by the Syrian Democratic Council, considering it a national path that possesses tools of solution away from dictates and interventions that do not serve the cause of the Syrians, end their suffering and achieve their demands to reach a democratic, decentralized Syria.
