Under the patronage of the Syrian Democratic Council, and in coordination with the municipality of drawing , it was opened an art exhibition “The scream of Syria” in Al- Asr camp (Sardam)under the slogan “Afrin calls us”.
The institutions and bodies of the Autonomous Administration, political parties and caucuses, the activities of women and many of the camp residents who are displaced from Afrin participated in the ceremonies of the opening.
The activities of the exhibition began with a welcoming speech by the administrator in the women’s office, “Zainab Qanbar,” and then it was a speech by a member of the Syrian Democratic Council’s Presidency Council,” Ilham Omar”.
During her speech, “Ilham Omar” indicated the depth of the Syrians’ suffering due to the Turkish occupation, and the hard violations committed by Turkey and its mercenaries in Afrin.
Ilham Omar identified the liberation of the Syrian lands, especially Afrin, as a priority for them, pointing out that the solution of the Syrian crisis begins with expelling the occupiers and also the Syrians’ agreement through a comprehensive national dialogue.
In turn, the co-chair of the municipality of drawing, Ardalan Ibrahim, considered that the exhibition has important meanings, despite the suffering of displacement, and they were able to gather / 40 / artists in this exhibition to embody the reality of the region, which suffers from exceptional circumstances.
Ardalan Ibrahim indicated through these artworks that they were able to express the depth of the suffering of displacement and the war that Afrin has been going through for three years, saying that it is a method of resistance by the artist.
During the exhibition, a video was shown on the scenes of preparing the exhibition, which has been prepared for more than 4 months by artists and painters.
The exhibition will continue for several days, and it includes 102 paintings and 10 sculptural works that express the suffering and difficulties experienced by the displaced people from Afrin in the camps, as well as the crimes and massacres committed by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in Afrin.
