The follow-up committee that is emanating from “The National Conference of the People of Al- Jazeera and Euphrates” affirmed that the decisions issued by it are mandatory, and that they represent the path of developing Autonomous Administration and expanding the community participation.
The committee held its periodic meeting with the participation of all its members and in the presence and supervision of the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Amina Omar, the commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration, Abd Hamid al-Mahbash.
The meeting discussed all issues that affect the lives of the residents of northern and eastern Syria and ways to overcome the current challenges and develop the Autonomous Administration according to the map outlined by the outcomes of “The people of Al-Jazeera and the Euphrates” conference, which was held at the end of last November.
The meeting evaluated the work of the committee during the last period, and that some authorities have not yet committed to implement the committee’s decisions, especially the security ones. They attributed this to the nature of the work of those authorities during the past period, which was a period of war and battles against terrorism, stressing that the next stage requires full compliance with the decisions of the follow-up committee.
During the meeting, it was pointed out the issue of the death of the young man, Amin Issa Al-Ali, at the Correction and Rehabilitation Center in Al-Hasakah ,Ghweran, in which the members of the meeting stressed the need to follow up the investigation into the circumstances and merits of the case until the truth is discovered.
The members of the meeting affirmed its rejection of the systematic abuse of the Autonomous Administration’s institutions, and their rejecting the issues of human rights violations and they supported the need to hold violators accountable.
On the other hand, the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration, Abd Hamid Al-Mahbash, reviewed the progress of implementing the outcomes of “The people of Al-Jazeera and the Euphrates” conference.
He pointed out the number of decisions and measures that have been taken so far, as the administration has begun to form a “High Electoral Commission” and a committee to formulate a “social contract.”
In addition to the laws that regulate the institutional work, in which the Autonomous Administration and a team of experts and specialists are working on formulation and issuing a number of laws such as the law of companies, investment, taxes and others.
In another context, the members of the meeting discussed the file of securing drinking water for the city of Al-Hasakah and the need to search for urgent alternatives to the Allouk station, which is under the occupation of the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation.
The members of the meeting also stressed the need to solve the issues that concern the lives of the residents of northeastern Syria by supporting the vital sectors, encouraging the investment, and creating the appropriate environment for that.
