The Syrian Democratic Council

• Political parties in Aleppo demand an end to the occupation of all Syrian regions

The political parties in the city of Aleppo demanded the United Nations and the Security Council for working to end the Turkish occupation, and taking a political position that serves the interests of the Syrian people to end the occupation of all Syrian regions.

That was clear during a statement delivered by political parties for the world public opinion on Wednesday, January 19th, in Al- Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo city, coinciding with the passing of four years for the start of the Turkish aggression on the Afrin region.

In their statement, the parties indicated that four years have passed since the occupation of the city of Afrin, and the international silence and regional inaction continues over the practices and policies of the Turkish state and its mercenaries, including killing, kidnapping, displacement, a demographic change and the destruction of historical monuments.

It was stated that “The occupation of the Afrin region and the commission of the most horrific violations against civilians is a continuation of the Turkish expansionist project, which occupied other safe areas such as Ras Al-Ain and Tal Abyad”.
And parties added that “Turkey tries to destroy the experience of the Autonomous Administration which was formed after the successes achieved by the Syrian Democratic Forces, and to bring its internal crises outside the Turkish borders”.

The political parties confirmed during their statement saying “We are as political parties in the city of Aleppo, affirm our support for our people and forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, and we call on the active countries to assume their responsibilities to deter Turkey and end its occupation and expansion in the regions of North and East of Syria, and we demand the United Nations and the Security Council to play their international role in fact-finding and investigation about the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation against the Syrian people, and we call on all countries to break their silence and take a political position that serves the interests of the Syrian people to end the occupation of all Syrian regions.”
