Intellectuals and clans’ dignitaries of Deir ez-Zor reject Turkish threats and call for confronting them

A large group of intellectuals, politicians and clans’ dignitaries in Deir ez-Zor rejected Turkish threats that were launched by Erdogan against the Autonomous Administration areas and called for confronting them in various forms and methods.
This was during a dialogue seminar held by the Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council on Wednesday to strengthen solidarity among the components and stand up to face challenges in the presence of clans’ sheikhs and dignitaries, representatives of local councils and civil institutions in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The seminar began with a speech by Anas Al-marfou, a member of the Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council, where he welcomed the participants and talked about the role of clans in building society, protecting values and fighting terrorism. “The clans have a great role in defending their territory, especially during the encroachment of the Turkish occupation state, which is trying to pressure the peoples in Syria and Iraq to achieve their goals, and this is not a new matter to the Turkish occupation state, as it is a colonial state that has dominated the region for more than 400 years” he said.
Al-marfou called for using the positive matter of this role and confronting conspiracies and challenges because the clans of the region have experience in fighting terrorism such as the Shaitat clan.
“To destabilize the stability of the region and achieve political, economic and military gains in the region.” Al-Marfou explained about the Turkish goal for these threats.
“These threats and violations practiced by Turkey are obvious to the principles of the Syrian Revolution for which the Syrian people demonstrated for freedom and dignity and an obstacle to the political resolution.” he added.
“We observe greatly the encroachment by the Turkish occupation state on our territory and our people without any response from the guarantor countries and human rights organizations, does this mean the inability of those countries or are they satisfied?” Abd Alkader Hassan is a clan dignitary of Al-Bakaan asked.
“We are ready to stand up against the Turkish occupation state and confront it for struggle and freedom, and all of us with our elders, children and women are ready for the sake of free living and security.” Ali Al-Hameed, a dignitary of Al-Weli clan in the town of Al-Susah for confront said.
Sheikh Nasser Al-tarami, a chairman of the AlBu-Kamal clan council, also stressed his rejection of Turkish threats and stressed that the people of clans of the region stand up by the SDF, such as the participants in the seminar affirmed to stand together with their forces (Syrian Democratic Forces) in case Turkey occupied the area.
The seminar was concluded with a statement read by a member of coalition of Deir ez-Zor, Sheikh Abd Alrahman Al-deghayfj, in which it was stated as following:
“On behalf of the Deir ez-Zor Community Coalition, which includes intellectuals, dignitaries, elders, administrators, parties, civil society organizations and independent figures, we condemn and denounce the Turkish attacks on our beloved North.
This attack is a blatant and criminal intervention against the Syrian state by Erdogan and his government in order to expand and achieve his dream of creating a fascist empire that achieves his Nazi ambition at the expense of the Syrian territory and the demographic change of the region. This is contrary to international laws and human rights principles and is considered a state terrorism carried out by the Turkish fascism.
“We hope that the United Nations and the Security Council will carry out their tasks, stop the bloodshed that it inflicts daily, take strict positions on what is happening, and a resolution obliging it not to encroach and force it to withdraw from all the Syrian territories it has occupied.”
