On Monday, a large group of dignitaries, intellectuals and representatives of the spectra of Manbij, Idlib and their countryside expressed their rejection of threats and the expansionist ambitions of the Turkish state where Erdogan targeted the region and Syria in general, in which their rejection was expressed in one of the halls in the center of Manbij.
It was during a meeting organized by the Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council to strengthen the national cohesion and discuss the Turkish threats and attacks on the Autonomous Administration areas and their impact on the path of the political resolution.
The meeting began by the chairman of the Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council, Hassan Muhammed Ali, talking about the latest political developments on the Syrian, regional and international arenas, as he began by noting that the North and East of Syria, especially Manbij, has become a center of conflict for a decade so there is a rearrangement of tasks.
“A balance is based on strong politics due to international strategies and interests and despite the competition among the great and regional powers, we managed the region ten years ago and other regions for seven years like Manbij, which is not easy and means our ability to manage the crisis”, he said.
On Turkey and its threats that Turkey is exploiting its geopolitical position and its membership in NATO to accept Finland and Sweden in this regard. “Turkey has to satisfy the guarantor countries to get the approval, which is impossible at the current time,” and despite the existence of several things that prevent Turkey from attacking, which is involving it regarding files that hinder it at home and abroad, one of which is the collapse of the lira, the fear of sanctions and international rejection of this attack because Turkey seeks to occupy the region according to its statements rejecting the Lausanne agreement after one hundred years”. Muhammed Ali said.
“We are, as the people of the region, based on our belonging to the Syrian homeland, are moving and calling on all parties and international powers to take a stronger position despite the psychological war practiced by Turkey,” Muhammed Ali said.
In turn, the participants expressed their rejection of these threats and occupation and also, they expressed their standing together with the Syrian Democratic Forces and the need to take advantage of the mistakes that occurred in Afrin and Ras Al-Ain and rely on the popular base with its social and national cohesion, despite the criticism directed towards the Autonomous Administration, whether it is the lack of services or even corruption.
It is worth mentioning that the Turkish operation, which Erdogan renewed on Wednesday, was met with international rejection by the guarantor countries.
