The Women’s Bureau Organizes a Workshop on Migration and Its Risks in Aleppo

The Women’s Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council organized a workshop entitled “Migration, Its Types and Impacts on Women and the Family” on Tuesday, in Al-Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo city in the presence of representatives of political parties and independent feminist figures.

The member of the Women’s Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council, Fawziya Kesha, welcomed the female attendees, and the dialogue was moderated by “Najla Hamza”, the Administrator of the Women’s Bureau of the SDC, who spoke about internal and external migration and forced displacement in Syria and their impacts on society and women in particular.

She added that the most dangerous migration in society is the migration of the driving force of society, the youth category, brain drain, the exploitation and polarization of bright minds by the ruling regimes, and the practice of political decay on the displaced and making them move away from their originality through linguistic, cultural and social decay.

In conclusion, Najla called on the Syrians to remain steadfast to protect homeland from any internal and external aggression, consolidate the concept of national unity to preserve the unity of the Syrian territories, and give peace opportunities to international institutions and democratic powers from inside Syria in order to lay the foundations of peace on the basis of decisions and start a constructive political dialogue that supports safe return through the application of international resolutions, especially Resolution 2254.

After the formation of groups, the workshop dealt with two main themes, the first of which discussed the impacts of internal and external migration and forced displacement on women and children, while the second one discussed how to find resolutions to stop displacement processes.

For their part, the female attendees discussed the causes of migration, forced displacement, and how to find resolutions to stop the displacement processes by the occupying forces of Syria, especially the Turkish occupation state and its exploitation of Syrian displaced people.
