The Syrian Democratic Council

A Telegram of Condolence

It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we received the news of the death of the Egyptian figure, Rajaie Fayed, the Chairman of the Egyptian Center for Kurdish Studies and research.

The late man was one of the researchers who took a close interest in the issue of the Kurdish people and followed it in all its details. His extensive relations were characterized by an understanding of the requirements and rights of the Kurdish people and ways to conduct a fruitful Arab-Kurdish dialogue.

He was a member of the Preparatory Committee for holding the first conference of the Arab-Kurdish dialogue in 1998, which was held in Cairo where he played the largest role in it.

He left us physically, but he remained intellectually and spiritually with us, and the Kurdish people will not forget his articles and books on the Kurdish issue.

On this painful occasion, we as members of the Syrian Democratic Council offer our condolences to his family, the brotherly Egyptian people, and we ask Almighty to grant him with mercy, make his place in spacious Paradise and inspire his family and friends with patience and solace.
