The Syrian Democratic Council Holds a Series of Meetings with Political Parties in Aleppo

The Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council conducted a series of meetings with political parties in the city of Aleppo, in which those meetings focused on critical issues concerning Syrians, the challenges facing the country, the necessity for all Syrian democratic national powers to collaborate and engage in constructive dialogues to end the suffering of the Syrian people.

The first of these meetings was attended by the Co-Chair of the Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council, Hassan Muhammed Ali, along with the Secretary-General of the Syrian Change and Renaissance Party, Mustafa Qalaji, and their accompanying delegation, including members of the SDC’s Relations Bureau.

During the meeting, Qalaji stressed the importance of the national action and the role of democratic powers, emphasizing the real danger facing the Syrian people. He pointed out that Syrian democratic national powers hold a significant responsibility to address these risks through joint efforts, unifying their visions, and activating constructive and beneficial dialogues for Syria and its people.

The second meeting addressed several critical issues with a delegation from the Unified Syrian Communist Party, in which the delegation included Hekmat Julaq, a representative of the party’s Logical Committee, and Muhammed Habash, a member of the Logical Committee.

“Hekmat Julaq” emphasized the importance of strengthening relations among Syrian national powers and the necessity of collective action to fortify the community against external aggressions and regional challenges. He called for enhancing the national belonging based on the principles of shared Syrian national interests.

The Unified Syrian Communist Party is considered as one of the essential parties of the Progressive National Front Alliance in Syria.

In a related context, the Relations Bureau also met with Ziyad Watafah, a representative of the National Coordination Body, the Democratic Change Movement, focusing on the need for all spectrum and Syrian political democratic national blocs to engage in dialogues to discuss the current and future situations. The discussions highlighted the importance of acceptance of others’ opinions, non-exclusion, non-marginalization and the societal participation of Syrians, along with reaffirming points of agreement and building on them while addressing differences.

The last of those meetings was with Nawras Taleb, the Aleppo Branch Secretary of the Arab Democratic Solidarity Party. During the meeting, he expressed his commitment to the inclusive Syrian national identity and stressed the importance of working to protect the unity of Syria; both its territories and people, as well as the need for continuing such meetings and expanding them.

Following these meetings, the member of the Executive Body and the Chairman of the Relations Bureau, “Hassan Muhammed Ali,” pointed out that the goal of the Syrian Democratic Council through its dialogues with various political powers is to unify and expand perspectives to encompass a wide range of Syrian national powers.

He emphasized the need for continuing these meetings and their expanding them within the framework of Syrian democratic national perspectives, stating that the Syrian crisis and the suffering of the people can only be resolved by an intra-Syrian dialogue that was adopted by the council, holding national conferences, and exchanging opinions and visions.

Throughout this series of meetings that were conducted by the Relations Bureau, all parties expressed their readiness to engage in a Syrian national dialogue to end the suffering and crisis, and resolving outstanding issues. They pledged to continue participating in such dialogues and other dialogues, seeking to broaden them with other powers, and they showed that all parties are ready for these steps.

They highlighted their joint condemnation of foreign interventions, particularly Turkey’s attacks on Syrian territories and its people. They emphasized the importance of the Syrian collective action and support for national dialogues.
