During the meeting, Houry emphasized that Syria has reached a very critical stage of division and sliding towards catastrophe. He stated that the foreign interventions in the Syrian issue were driven by their own interests and not by the interests of the Syrian people. “We support an intra-Syrian resolution to overcome this crisis.” He stated.

In the same context, the Relations Bureau discussed with the adviser of the Secretary-General of the Syrian Democratic Party, Ahmed Abdi, the necessities of a political resolution in Syria. Abdi pointed out the need to open channels for a comprehensive Syrian national dialogue based on shared national interests and methods of cooperation and networking to reach “a practical implementation and achieve a real consensus based on the rights of everyone to self-determination” as he described it.

The Relations Bureau official stressed the necessity of convening a comprehensive Syrian national conference that includes all powers, parties, and political entities. The goal is to form a national and international public opinion that would consolidate the democratic resolution to achieve unified Syrian national positions among different democratic powers and figures.

The political parties agreed the necessity of launching national dialogues to unify all Syrian powers and emphasizing that the only resolution for the Syrian crisis is the political national resolution.

During the meetings, all political parties agreed on the necessity of preserving the unity of Syrian territory and the unity of purpose and destiny against any form of occupations, while also concurring on the necessity of the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Syria.

These meetings followed a series of dialogues conducted by the Syrian Democratic Council with democratic political parties in Aleppo, with the aim of strengthening and expanding relations among Syrians.
