Syrian political powers, parties, civil society organizations, political figures, and activists condemned, on Sunday, the terrorist attack in Homs and the Turkish escalation in northeastern Syria. The statement was read by Professor Natasha al-Asfari in front of Aleppo Castle in the city.
The statement criticized Turkey’s continued aggressive behavior towards Syria, targeting infrastructure, public facilities, and residential areas, as well as supporting armed terrorist groups, considering this behavior is seen as a continuation of Turkey’s occupying policies, which persist without interruption or deterrent.
The statement also warned against a new wave of displacement and a humanitarian catastrophe resulting from Turkish policies aimed at manipulating the demographic composition of northern Syria.
Syrian political powers, parties, organizations, and figures mourned the martyrs who were martyred in the military college graduation ceremony and martyrs who faced Turkish occupation in northeastern Syria.
They also denounced Turkey’s operations in northern Syria and its support for armed terrorist groups responsible for the massacre in Homs and other destructive and terrorist acts.
The statement emphasized that Syria’s determination in the face of aggression will not weaken and that the Syrian people will unite to defeat the occupation and terrorism, and work to prevent all support for the armed terrorist groups that commit atrocities against the Syrians.
It called on guarantor countries and the international community to assume their responsibilities and work to stop Turkish aggression, its support for terrorism, its killing Syrians and its destruction in Syria.
