An elite group of Syrians has called for an unity to confront the conspiracies surrounding them and support the democratic project in Syria, which embodied currently by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
That call was made during a dialogue seminar organized by the Relations Committee of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) in Deir ez-Zor. The seminar aimed to clarify the dimensions of regional conspiracies in the eastern region and Syria in general, especially amid the blocking the political resolution.
The seminar was attended by intellectuals, politicians, independent activists, as well as female figures, tribal leaders, and representatives of civilian and military institutions in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor within the town of Hajin.
The discussion emphasized the necessity of Syrian unity to achieve security and stability in the region, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and UN Security Council Resolution 2254, meeting the hopes and aspirations of the Syrian people and their rights to determine their own destiny, prevent regional interests that seek to harm the unity of the people.
Anas al-Marfu’, member of the Relations Bureau in the SDC, spoke about the importance of adhering to the AANES project, considering it the only remaining national project for the interests of Syrian people and preserving it as a national achievement to build the future Syria.
Regarding recent events in Deir ez-Zor, al-Marfu’ pointed out that the region was progressing before hostile forces conspired against its people. Thus, true citizens had to come together to strengthen social relations and preserve the national unity.
Ahmad al-Askar, civil activist, stated that the people of Deir ez-Zor are one united community without discrimination among Arabs, Kurds, and others. He called for raising awareness and increasing income for the people of the region, due to difficult economic conditions amid the country’s crisis.
On another note, Nariman al-Sabaykhan emphasized that social cohesion is necessary but with the condition of fulfilling the basic needs of the residents, ensuring job opportunities for youth generation, and adhering to belief in this approach and project.
Other discussions addressed issues such as migration, enhancing security, job opportunities, securing services, education, and more.
The seminar was concluded by affirming the equality among the spectrums of the Syrian people and achieving social justice.
