SDC affirms the need for the national dialogue with political parties

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) held on Saturday a series of meetings with various political parties in Qamishli to discuss political developments, challenges, and prospects for a political solution in Syria.

The SDC’s delegation included Layla Qaraman, Co-chairwoman of the SDC, and Mahmoud al-Mislat, Co-chairman of the SDC, as well as Afram Ishaq, Deputy of the SDC’s Co-chairs and Hussein Azam, a member of the SDC’s Relations Office.

During these meetings, the SDC engaged with several Kurdish political parties in Syria. The delegation met with the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party (Yekiti). Muhi al-Din Sheikh Ali, Secretary of the Party, and Hussein Badr, a member of the Party’s Political Office, along with other members of the Leadership Body including Masum Dawoud and Muhammad Saleh received the delegation.

Additionally, the SDC met with the Kurdish Democratic Left Party in Syria. The Party’s members included Saleh Kaddo, Secretary of the Party, and Fadel Musa, a member of the Party’s Political Office along with Bangin Kaddo, a member of the Party’s Media Office.

In a related context, the SDC also met with the Kurdistan Renewal Party in Syria. Abdul Ghani Omar, a member of the Party’s Relations Office and Muhammad Zeido, a member of the Party’s Council, along with other Party’s representatives received the delegation.

The SDC’s last meeting was with the Construction and Development Party in Syria chaired by Muhammad Qana al-Haran, Secretay-General of the Party, along with members of the party’s Political Office, Women’s Office, and General Secretariat.

The discussions covered several topics, including political developments, international conflicts, and their multidimensional impacts on the Syrian situation, as well as the necessity of the national dialogue.

The SDC emphasized the need for concerted all efforts toward strengthening relations with political parties, and fostering collaborative cooperation to address various challenges.

The discussions of these meetings are considered as part of the national dialogue initiative, encouraging the effective engagement with all segments of society. Also, the SDC calls for exchanging diverse perspectives and creating opportunities, ideas and proposals. The SDC’s aim is to come up with shared visions and support reconciliation efforts through enhancing the mutual trust among different Syrian parties.
