SDC meets with activists in Deir ez-Zor to enhance the democratic project

In the context of engaging with various community-based groups and political powers, the Public Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) held a meeting with a delegation of political activists and civil society members from the city of Deir ez-Zor.

Hassan Muhammad Ali, Co-chairman of the SDC’s Relations Office, chaired the meeting along with Office members including Azhar Ahmad and Daham al-Satam at the SDC’s Office in Hasakah city.

During the meeting, there were constructive dialogues in which the officials from the Relations Office provided an extensive explanation of the political document and the roadmap to come up with a comprehensive Syrian dialogue aimed at resolving the crisis in Syria.

On the other hand, the activists expressed their serious desire to establish a political body that represents the aspirations of the people of Deir ez-Zor more broadly, especially since anti-democratic powers have attempted to exploit the tribal context in the region.

The meeting also addressed various economic, social, and security aspects in northeastern regions of Syria, in addition to the state of the education sector, the ongoing threats posed by the terrorist Islamic State (ISIS) and the attempts by the authority in Damascus to exploit the political and security tensions in the region.

In conclusion, the activists reaffirmed their full support for the path of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and the democratic project led by the SDC, emphasizing the importance of the continued engaging and coordination with various national powers in the upcoming phase.
