SDC and an elite group of youth discuss political developments

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) held on Sunday a dialogue seminar in Raqqa city. The SDC, an elite group of youth and activists of civil society discussed the latest developments on the international and regional scenes and their impacts on the Syrian situation.

The SDC’s Public Relations Office organized the seminar. Representatives of civil society organizations, youth movements, and independent activists participated in the seminar.

Mustafa Othman, a member of the SDC’s Relations Office, delivered an opening speech. Othman called for the unity of the Syrian people displaced throughout Syria due to the exacerbation of the Syrian crisis and its prolongation.

Afterward, Hassan Muhammad Ali, Co-chairman of the SDC’s Relations Office, provided a detailed explanation of the recent political developments locally, regionally, and internationally. Muhammad Ali underscored the importance of the national role played by the SDC as a major political alliance.

Muhammed Ali stated that the SDC has played a crucial role in Syrian political negotiations due to its possession of strengths and its adoption of balanced policies. He considered the SDC’s role as the only beacon of hope for Syrians.

Khalaf Dahoud, Deputy the Co-chairman of the SDC’s Relations Office, criticized the Turkish role in undermining signs of democracy in Syria. Dahoud stated that Turkey serves many parties.

During the discussions in the seminar, Nasser al-Haj Mansour, an activist of civil society, called for an end to the political isolation imposed on the region. He emphasized the necessity of relying on civil society’s activities in the upcoming phases.

Participants in the seminar also addressed several other issues such as youth migration and the relationship with the authorities in Damascus. Additionally, they emphasized the need to cooperate with the Global Coalition in security and economic fields to consolidate stability in the region.

The seminar concluded with the responding to the inquiries and questions of the attendees by a seminar panel.
