The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) condemns in the strongest terms the crime committed by Turkey.
This crime was carried out via a drone on the morning of March 17, 2025, in the countryside of Kobani. It resulted in the martyrdom of an entire family. This attack marks yet another addition to Turkey’s long record of crimes against the Syrian people.
This aggression claimed the lives of civilians inside their homes. It is a continuation of Turkey’s hostile policies aimed at undermining security and destabilizing the foundations of peaceful coexistence.
The attack constitutes a blatant violation of international laws. Targeting innocent civilians with such brutality is a war crime. It reveals Turkey’s disregard for international legitimacy.
The SDC calls on the interim government in Damascus to assume its responsibilities. It urges the government to take a clear stance against these violations.
The SDC also calls on the Global Coalition and influential actors to halt this aggression. It further demands that they take steps to deter such actions in the future.
The continuation of these crimes threatens stability in Syria. It also complicates the already fragile situation. This is happening amid ongoing international silence.
The SDC appeals to Syrian national powers to unify their position to confront this aggression collectively.
Protecting Syrians is a national responsibility that cannot be neglected. Those responsible for this crime will be held accountable.
We, as members of the SDC, affirm that our people’s struggle continues. It is now time for the international community to take action and end these violations. Such action must establish a phase that guarantees the rights and security of Syrians.
