SDC Meets with the Tribes of the Region about the Challenges of the Stage

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) met with a delegation from the region’s tribes in the city of Qamishlou today to discuss a number of current issues related to service conditions and civil peace.
The delegation included many Arab and Kurdish tribal elders and dignitaries. They were received by the Co-President of the Syrian Democratic Council Amina Omar, the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee, Hikmet Habib, the Deputy Head of the joint presidency, Gabriel Chamoun and the member of Public Relations Office, Sihanouk Dibo.
SDC discussed with the tribal delegation the latest political developments in the region and the field developments that accompanied post militarily elimination phase against the terrorist ISIS.
 The two sides also discussed the role of the clans and their councils in maintaining civil peace. The Co-President stressed that the Syria Democratic Council has paid special attention to the tribes, their active role in society and preserving of noble values.
The two sides discussed a number of current issues related to the living and service conditions, the humanitarian situation in the camps, the damage which the farmers have suffered and the ways to deal with them during the next phase.
For its part, the tribal delegation stressed that the current gains came by virtue of sacrifices made by the Syrian Democratic Forces and that the project led by the Syrian Democratic Council proved its suitability to the Syrian situation.
At the end of the meeting, the tribes affirmed that they are ready to shoulder their responsibilities towards Autonomous Administration and the success of democratic decentralization project.
