On August 5, the parties that are joined to the Syrian Democratic Council gathered in the city of Qamishlo to discuss a number of political issues, particularly the Turkish threats and the safe zone file.
The meeting was attended by the Co-Chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Amina Omar, in addition to the Co-Chairs of SDC Offices.
The meeting dealt with the latest political developments in Syria, especially the issue of the safe area and the thirteenth round of Astana talks and its outputs.
The parties affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Council stressed on the need to take the Turkish threats seriously and prepare for them politically and societally
The SDC parties considered that the Turkish state is waiting for opportunities and the aim of its threats is to empty the international efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis in accordance with international resolutions and its political course, and to make troubles in the regional balance.
The SDC parties also considered that any aggression by the Turkish state on Syrian territory is an attack on the Syrian Democratic Council.
In the same context, the SDC parties called for opening channels of communication with all international parties and bodies, and urging them to prevent occupation of more land in view of the seriousness of Turkish presence on Syrian territory ..
