The people of Afrin and al-Shahba Condemn the Practices of the Turkish State in Northern Syria

Yesterday, the families of the martyrs in “al-Aser camp” in Tal Sous sub-district in al-Shahba area, organized a mass demonstration condemning the Turkish occupation and its inhuman practices under the slogan “Protect your Land, your Soil and Defeat the Occupation and ISIS”
The families of the martyrs, civil society organizations and parties participated in the demonstration, as well as the participation of Afrin and al-Shahba office in the Syrian Democratic Council and participation of thousands of Afrin and al-Shahba people.

The demonstration began with repeating of slogans and cheers condemning the Turkish occupation and international silence associated with it. It started from the road linking Tal al-Qarrah – Tal Sous to the center of al-Aser camp, where the people gathered in the camp square.
The gathering began with a minute of silence in honor of souls of the martyrs.Then the council of martyrs’ families gave a statement to public opinion condemning all the criminal acts carried out by the Turkish occupation in Afrin like the destruction of the graves of the martyrs, which are considered sacred, and they considered this as an expression of the intentions of the Turkish occupier and his hatred towards the components of the region.
They also condemned the destruction of archaeological monuments by the Turkish occupation state and its abductions, killings, displacements and Turkification operations, as well as the completion of its terrorist acts to do demographic change.The Turkish occupation is continuing to bomb areas of al-Shahba and Shirawa, killing civilians who forcibly displaced their home, the home of peace and olives.
The statement appealed to the Security Council, the United Nations, international bodies and humanitarian organizations to intervene to end the Turkish occupation, its practices and to secure a safe return for Afrin indigenous population.
