bhzad janThe president of the Executive Committee of the Syrian Democratic Council, Ilham Ahmed, called upon the American public opinion to seek for stopping the Turkish killing against the components of north and east Syria, accounting for the perpetrators of the massacres and considering them terrorists.
Ahmed’s speech came during an intervention in a seminar prepared by members of the US Congress at the Capitol in Washington about the Kurdish and Syrian issues.
The Executive Committee president, Ilham Ahmed, talked about the experience formed and built by the components of north and east Syria starting from Afrin, Kobani and Qamishlo and then in Raqqa, Deir Ezzor and the rest of the regions, after the SDF liberated such areas from terrorism.
Ahmad continued saying : that the project in which all components of the region, including Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Assyrians, Armenians, Turkmen and other components, was a democratic experience and a secular model that guarantees the freedom of all members of society to practice their beliefs unconditionally, and women enjoy equality without discrimination or exclusion.
She said that this project was ahead of the project, formed by the factions and opposition groups in the governorate of Idlib, which has a radical Islamic orientation, and was also ahead of the project of the Syrian regime that has one-party system, which has maintained its central form rejecting pluralism.
Ahmad blamed the countries involved in the Syrian file and facilitated the Turkish state to direct its repressive machine towards Self-Administration areas from January, 2018 in Afrin area until October 9th of current year in Sri Kanyie / Ras Al-Ain and Tal Abyad / Kre Spi, where the Turkish state and its mercenaries practice the same policy in obliteration of the region’s identity and ethnic cleansing against their indigenous population. In addition to killing, kidnapping, forced displacement and other inhuman practices.
Ahmad also said that north and east regions of Syria were embodying the Syrian situation with their diversity and coexistence of their components and were able to eliminate terrorism with the help of the international coalition, but at the same time, such areas were excluded from participation in the political process in “Geneva”, although the project of the Syrian Democratic Council is a national project for all Syrian geography and all its components.
Ahmed demanded from the international community and the USA to get out the factions associated with the Turkish state from the territories they occupied with the Turkish state and declaring these areas as a demilitarized zone, in addition to punishing those factions for their criminalization and putting them on the lists of terrorism.
She also demanded for punishing the Turkish state for its crimes through these factions that used the weapons of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Ahmed also called for supporting the democratic project and the experience of Self-Administration for North and East of the country. Otherwise, the Turkish state will reproduce the terrorist organization ISIS which threatens peace and stability throughout the region and the world.
