The Coordination of Women in Self-Administtation for North and East Syria ( SANES ) held a forum on violations and crimes committed by the Turkish state and its mercenaries against women in North and East Syria in Qamishlo today. Many women activities participated in the forum that included women organizations in the political parties, women offices in the administrative committees, in addition to participation of the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Amina Omar, and the co-chair of the organization office Laila Qahraman.The forum discussed several topics focused on Turkish violations and its crimes against women, where the first topic talked about The humanitarian side .The co-chair of Human Rights Organization in al-Jazeera district, Avin Joma’a, discovered the number of women exposed to the crimes of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries. Whereas the second topic dealt with the legal aspect, which highlighted the international conventions that criminalize violence against women, the Convention of Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women, the Turkish state violation all these conventions and its use for various types of criminality against women in north and east Syria. The third topic focused on political side, where the co-chair of SDC talked about the women, their role in the policy and their existence in decision- making centers in the world generally and in Syria especially. She also highlighted the practices of the Turkish state and its mercenaries against female politicians. Omar said that the assassination of the secretary general of the Future Syria Party, Hefreen Khalaf, should not pass without judging and bringing the criminals in front of international criminal courts. These events are part of a series of activities organized by women in north and east Syria on the occasion of the International Day against Violence against Women, which is on November 25th each year.
