Danish Foreign Minister Receives a Delegation from the Syrian Democratic Council

Denmark’s Foreign Minister ,Yebeh Kovud, received a delegation from the Syrian Democratic Council, which includes the co-chair, Riad Dirar, and the President of the Executive Committee of SDC ,Ilham Ahmed, in addition to the representative of North and East Syria in Denmark, Shiar Dirki, to discuss the Syrian public affairs, especially the situation in North and East Syria and the last Turkish invasion.The meeting dealt with the Turkish aggression on the towns and villages of North Syria, its undermining the situation of calm and security that prevailed in the areas of Northeastern Syria, the continuation of the Turkish state and its mercenaries in breaking the ceasefire agreement and targeting civilians. The delegation of the Syrian Democratic Council referred to the disastrous humanitarian situation brought by Turkish aggression and Turkish state deliberation to change population composition of the area through ethnic cleansing done by Turkish state in North Syria.The SDC delegation pointed out to need to involve SDC in any political process that would put an end to the eight years of Syrian bloodshed. For his part, the Danish Foreign Minister affirmed his own understanding and his government’s understanding of all the issues discussed, affirming his country’s continued support for the Syrian Democratic Forces, saying that “these forces protected us and the world from terrorism and such force is an allied one, and we condemned the Turkish invasion of the region.” In a related context, The delegation of the Syrian Democratic Council met with the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament, which includes all the political parties, during which they discussed many of the issues that dominate the stage which north and east Syria are passing by, especially the Turkish hostile role against the components of Syrian people. In the presence of more than 200 people from the Syrian and Kurdish community in Denmark, a seminar was held in Copenhagen attended by SDC delegation about the latest developments in Syria, particularly in North and East Syria and the role of the Syrian Democratic Council in the Syrian solution and its national and democratic projects for future Syria, where the discussion took place and questions raised to the delegation of SDC which responded and clarified many issues for the people of the Kurdish and Syrian community in Kingdom of Denmark.
