The Presidential Council of the Syrian Democratic Council discussed in its regular meeting in the city of Qamishlo in the east of the country today, the repercussions of the Turkish aggression, its occupation of areas of north and east Syria, and various international and regional positions regarding the Turkish occupation.
The meeting was attended by political parties and formations, in addition to the personalities and societal activities that are part of the Syrian Democratic Council.
The co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Amina Omar, presented a political report on the Turkish aggression and its targeting of northern and eastern regions of Syria, which were considered one of the safest and most embracing Syrian regions for the internally displaced persons in Syrian.
In addition to the disastrous humanitarian aspect left by the Turkish aggression, Omar also highlighted a clear retreat of international efforts to resolve the crisis and find a way out for it as a result of the Turkish intervention that undermined the efforts to resolve the crisis.
For her part, the president of the Executive Committee of SDC, Ilham Ahmed, spoke about the results of the meetings she had held in both the United States of America and countries of the European Union.
Ahmed praised the positions of some European countries who expressed their regret about the Turkish army targeting the Syrian Democratic Forces that fought terrorism on behalf of Europe and the world.
The president of the Executive Committee, Ilham Ahmed, also valued the position of the Arab League and the position of the Arab Republic of Egypt, whose foreign minister received a delegation from the Syrian Democratic Council after the Turkish aggression on north and east Syria.
The meeting discussed the humanitarian aspect and displacement of hundreds of thousands of people from their areas and properties.The region was subjected to an operation of ethnic cleansing and a change in its demographic composition by the occupied Turkish state.The attendees called on the relevant humanitarian organizations to intervene to prevent this.
The Syrian Democratic Council at the end of the Presidential Council meeting, renewed its assertion on the necessity for the international community and the operating states in the Syrian file to shoulder their responsibilities in ending the Turkish occupation and beginning a process of a real and serious political settlement in accordance with international decisions with the participation of all parties without exclusion of anyone of them.
At the same time, the Presidential Council emphasized on the national approach to solve the Syrian crisis through negotiation and societal dialogue, considering that resolving the country’s crisis and ending the sufferings of the Syrian people is a national priority, whose solution requires the participation of all.
