In addition to the representative of the SDF in Washington, the former US envoy to Syria, James Jeffrey, and the former Deputy Secretary of Defense, Nick Mulroy, also participated a symposium.
The symposium was titled “A geopolitical fulcrum or an endless war, that are options for the policy of America towards Syria by the Biden’s administration “. A representative of the SDC talked about the role of Syria in the stabilizing of the region , and the need to work for establishing a democratic, pluralistic, stable and peaceful Syria, which would also affect the neighboring countries of Syria such as Turkey, Iraq, Jordan and also the Gulf.
A representative of the SDC in Washington indicated the importance of speeding up the political process and finding a comprehensive settlement for the crisis in the country, considering that as an important matter for the security and stability of the region.
While Ambassador Jeffrey reviewed possible scenarios for the Syrian file within the administration of the US President-elect “Joe Badin”, emphasizing that the attempts of Turkey to repeat military operations in the Autonomous Administration regions will harm the existing relationship between Washington and Ankara.
Jeffrey said that their war against terrorism in Syria was less expensive compared to the wars of America in Iraq and Afghanistan, pointing out that the United States of America “do not like endless wars.”
In the same context, Mr. Mulroy said that the existence of US forces in Syria and their partnership with the Syrian Democratic Forces “ SDF “ were very effective, and he pointed out that the departure of US forces from northern and eastern Syria will constitute an opportunity for the terrorist organization ISIS to reorganize itself and thus pose a threat to the region, as well as it will damage the ability of Washington to form alliances with other partner powers.
Sinem Muhammad also spoke about the different areas on the Syrian map, the role of Turkey and the factions associated with it for undermining security and stability, especially in the areas in which Turkey occupied it in northern Syria, and about the violations that it is committing in areas such as Afrin, Ras Al-Ain, and Tal Abyad, even in the areas of Al-Bab and Idlib.
Sinem Muhammad emphasized the necessity of the existence of “SDC” and the Autonomous Administration at the negotiating table and the political process by the auspices of the United Nations and also to be present in the Constitutional Committee, pointing out that the exclusion will not be the interest of the political solution .
