The Women’s Bureau holds a dialogue seminar on the role of women in the development of society

On Saturday, the Women’s Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council held the second dialogue seminar on women and their role in the development of society at its headquarters in Raqqa, attended by members and administrators of women’s councils and the Zenobia women’s gathering in the southern and eastern countryside of Raqqa city in order to empower rural women in society.

The seminar members shed light on the pivotal role of women in the renaissance of ancient and modern societies and their ability to make a positive change in those societies, as the member of the Women’s Bureau, Nawroz Abd Alrahman, spoke about the importance of activating the role of women and their participation in various fields, especially in social and political fields.

“During the state of growth and progress in societies, we need all the efforts and societal energies, and if we weaken their social role, we will lose half of the energy of society, considering that women are half of society” she added.

“We should strengthen the social role of women and support them continuously and work to overcome all the difficulties they face to become confident in themselves and able to assume a responsibility. “Said Thebya Al-Nasser, an administrator of the Women’s Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council, within the second part of a seminar, in which she talked about the role of rural women in agriculture, industry, military fields, medicine and other works.

In turn, they participated in raising the most important difficulties, obstacles and problems facing women, such as habits and a negative view of working women, backwardness and the culture of disadvantage, in addition to the balancing on work, domestic duties and women’s health.

In conclusion, the women who were participants, praised an event and the great amount of benefit and self-confidence gained and that they will transfer them in turn from their positions in the women’s councils for rural women and prepare for upcoming seminars and meetings that seek to empower women politically after their empowerment socially in community development.
