The Public Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council completed the workshops held with the parties on Thursday with representatives of political parties working in the city of Raqqa and its countryside in participation with the Co-presidency of the Raqqa Civil Council and the coordinators of parties in the meeting room within the center of the Syrian Democratic Council.
The workshop entitled the slogan “Towards a common vision for the political transition” and included an explanation of the political situation by Khalil Abdi, a member of the Relations Bureau and a member of the Presidential Council of the SDC, in which it was discussed the latest developments on the local, regional and international arena and the need for concerted efforts to unify the vision and address the intractable state of the Syrian situation.
“Discussing the political transition and developing a common vision should be done to empower parties, strengthen the partnership among political components, unify ranks and create a national base that faces challenges and achieves the desired political solution,” Jiyan Mulla, a member of the Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council pointed out.
The workshop dealt with three themes, the first of which is the ability of the Syrian Democratic Council to be a turning point for a democratic alternative to lead the political transition, where the views of the participants varied, highlighting the importance of the SDC and its regional and international role, stressing the importance of achieving internal consensus and enhancing the dialogue with all spectrums of the national opposition.
The second theme discussed the process of convincing the international community in the existence of organized political parties capable of leading the new Syria in accordance with the pluralism and participation of parties by support of the SDC.
The third theme discussed the embodiment of the objectives of the Syrian Democratic Council practically and its ability to meet the aspirations of the Syrian people in a practical way internally and externally.
“The process of the political transition is mentioned in the first four items of UN Resolution 2254 and focuses on the social awareness of the masses in which this process is the responsibility of all Syrians.” Kamel Hazbar, a member of the Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council concluded.
