During the developments in the northern and eastern regions of Syria, the Women’s Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council reviews the political situation and holds a dialogue seminar for the administrations of councils and municipalities in most of the countryside in Raqqa on Tuesday in the meeting room at the council headquarters in the city of Raqqa.
The seminar consisted of two parts, the first part was political in which Jiyan Malla Mahmoud, a member of the Presidential Council of the Syrian Democratic Council, spoke about the latest political developments on the Syrian regions and the regional and international situations. “There are a lot of files and issues on the Middle East where they have a direct impact and repercussions on the Syrian situation due to the presence of regional and international powers in it.” She mentioned.
She also touched on the Russian-Ukrainian war, international positions on it and the US Exemption Law, which exempted the regions of northern and eastern Syria from Caesar’s sanctions.
“These threats aim at undermining the stability and security of the region, also they aim at achieving some gains, especially with Turkey’s demand for new elections” On the Turkish threats issued by Erdogan, she said.
She continued to talk about the conferences and meetings held by the Syrian Democratic Council in the past from forum 1 and 2 in Ain Issa since 2018, workshops in Europe and recently the course of preparation for the conference of Syrian Democratic opposition Powers and Figures.
While the second part of the seminar dealt with the development of the tasks and work of women and the definition of the Syrian Democratic Council and its establishment and vision. ”The council assumed its responsibility to achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people for change and the comprehensive democratic transformation and achieve equality and justice between the sexes and ensure women’s rights.” Thubya Al-Nasser, an administrator of the Women’s Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council, said.
“The people in the Syrian state are an Integrated Community Unit based on equal citizenship, rights and duties, and the council helps all Syrian national powers aimed at strengthening the unity of Syria.” Al-Nasser added.
This seminar was held to discuss and analyze the political situation and with the aim of enhancing the communication with all women’s organizations and empowering rural women politically and in all fields of life to be active and pioneering in society, amid the expression of the participating women of their joy and pleasure to participate in such seminars.
