The Women’s Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council organized a meeting of women’s political activities to discuss the latest developments and Turkish threats in, Al-Qamishli, East of the country.
The Co-chairwoman of the Syrian Democratic Council, Amina Omar, began her speech on the developments in the region, especially the ongoing Turkish threats to Syrian territory.
Omar pointed out that the Turkish government is trying to get rid of its internal crises, achieve fake victories and use them in the electoral competition planned to be held next year.
She pointed out that they are in constant contact with international powers at the highest levels in order to deter the Turkish aggression and force it to comply with the signed agreements, and she added that all parties have expressed their rejection of any military operation that destabilizes the security of the region, and there are attempts to stop this operation diplomatically.
In conclusion, the Co-Chairwoman said that any Turkish aggression will be faced by the resistance and that the Syrian Democratic Forces will fulfill the duty of legitimate defense of the region that previously was liberated from terrorism and any aggression will cause catastrophic results at the humanitarian and security levels.
For her part, the leader of the Modernity and Democracy Party of Syria, Haifa Mahmoud, said that the Turkish regime is trying to repeat the experience of the Iskenderun brigade by the continuous seizing of Syrian territory and its ambitions will not stop, but it is trying to implement the “Milli pact” to restore the glories of its Ottoman ancestors.
The meeting was concluded with an agreement to write letters of appeal in several languages and send them to countries and international organizations to deter Turkey and maintain the security and stability of the areas that ISIS was defeated in, in addition to holding dialogue seminars with feminist activities and activists at home and abroad and forming a Syrian public opinion to face the dangers that threaten the unity of the country.
